Life in Bubbles!
No matter how old you are, watching bubbles floating aimlessly in the sky will always bring a smile to your face! Only a brief experience of joy, these thin spheres of liquid enclosing air, transports a sudden feeling of wonderment as they move upwards, glistening in the sunlight totally unaware as they are carried softly by a gust of unstable change.
That momentary feeling of bliss is perfectly in sync as we allow our thoughts to wander before the unexpected “Pop”…and then its back to actuality.
Life is full of simple pleasures. Enjoy x

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR REAL LOVE? 80’S VIDEO MONTAGE
Ha! Friday afternoon’s in the office is always a giggle, even if it is at the misfortunes of others. We’ve just been watching a montage of original video segments from an 80’s dating agency, profiling single men on the look for ‘fun’ and of course love.
“Oh Dear”, this is hilar and definitely made us chuckle. Not just because these guys grossly lack personality, but the fact they look like they’ve either been let out of the mental asylum on day release or a drip that simply never dropped! Obvious bad hair and droll listings of aesthetic expectations from a potential lady is just comical…really.
As the saying goes “Beggars can’t be choosers!”.
For all the single ladies and men. WATCH. You do not want to go down this route. EVER…it’s not a good look.

The Day The Factory Died
If you haven’t already been to Coldharbour London Gallery in South London…then get down there and check out their latest exhibition ‘The Day The Factory Died’ We went to the private view in December and met Christophe who we think is a total dude!
A collection of never-before published photos by acclaimed fashion photographer Christophe Von Hohenberg, his candid collection of images capture Andy Warhol’s memorial service at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in 1987. Curated by Aretha Campbell, the exhibition has brought together letters from the memorial, photographs, as well as works by Warhol himself.
Published in conjunction with the exhibition, is a bible-like 176 page book featuring a calvacade of celebrities from the world’s of Hollywood, Fashion, Pop Music, International Society and Art. Von Hohenberg, came upon Warhol’s funeral at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York, whilst on an assignment for Vanity Fair. His probing lens snapped beautiful black and white photos, capturing the swirl of celebrity that forced itself, shoulder-to-shoulder into the event, it was as if Andy Warhol had planned his own funeral, a dizzying crush of fame and fakery.
The images, in this exhibition, convey warmth and sadness, despite the high-glitz factor of that day. Bianca Jagger, her hair pulled over one eye…The Stern defiant chin of Claus Von Bulow, looking down on the proceedings and the poor fools below him. A hurrying Robert Maplethorpe, angry mane blowing behind him. And the wild-eyed mania of punk and pop fashion designer Stephen Sprouse with Blondie, perhaps the most Warholian of the subjects photographed.
Exhibition runs until 31st January 2012.

Superette Rock the Venison Burger
We at TwoTone are big fans of a good ole fashion quality cheeseburger, so we were super excited when the ‘Superette Xmas Venison Burger Recipe’ landed in our inbox last month.
After the success of the roast dinner pop-up restaurant last year expect to see more of Superette in 2012, so make sure you keep an eye out for local events. Ben Bishop the pioneer behind Superette is a professional chef who has worked for renowned culinary masters such as Gordon Ramsey, Marco Pierre White and Alan Ducasse, to name but a few.
Bringing a fun experience and quirky twist to the traditional meals we all know so well, Superette is bringing burger out of the gutter and back into the heavens!! Hhhhm salivating as I write this post…this recipe is too good not to make!

SMILE FOR LONDON RETURNS TO BEAT THE JANUARY BLUES WITH POETIC ANIMATIONS THROUGHOUT THE LONDON UNDERGROUND
Smile For London are very proud to announce their latest exhibition Word In Motion, that aims to uplift and inspire commuters with poetry and moving image during January 2012.
Word In Motion launches on the London Underground during morning and evening rush hours, on the 16th January 2012, and will run for two weeks.
Word In Motion unites some of London’s finest poets, writers and lyricists (including Ray Davies, Kate Tempest and Benjamin Zephaniah) with leading artists (including Malcolm Garrett, Hexstatic and Why Not Associates) in a collaborative project to be screened on the London Underground. Taking it’s cue from the seeming indifference shown to literature and the written word during the London riots, Word In Motion aims to reinvigorate an interest in poetry and writing as well as amuse and visually inspire people during the bleak month of January.
Each written piece is being brought to life by motion artists with 20-second-typographic-films. All the artists have picked their chosen piece blind with no knowledge of which writers’ work they are animating. This was done firmly in a spirit of democracy and to ensure the artists have an emotional engagement with their chosen poem.
The exhibition will include fantastic submissions from writers in response to a request for contributions. These were judged by Bang Said the Gun, Jarvis Cocker, Cerys Matthews, Murray Lachlan Young and Mark One – BAFTA winning director and creative director.
The Word In Motion exhibtion comprises collaborative pieces guaranteed to intrigue and excite including Ray Davies and Hextatic, Jon Burgerman and Malcom Garrett, Rick Holland and Jessika Strataki. Rick Holland, also took the WiM brief to a poetry workshop he was running at the Centrepoint Hostel, where 20 year old Olivia Sabat, one of the residents, wrote a wonderful poem that will appear in the exhibition.
Word In Motion will be running features on all their contributors via their website and blog at www.smileforlondon.com over the coming days and weeks, so head over there for more information about them all and the project as a whole.

SECRET 7” AN EXCITING AND INNOVATIVE PROJECT COMBINING MUSIC & ART FOR ARTISTS THAT ARE READY FOR THE CHALLENGE
Secret 7” is an exciting and innovative project brought together by Universal Music UK, Teenage Cancer Trust and Talenthouse, to creatively combine music and art in aid of charity.
An inspired challenge set by seven hosts; The Cure, Florence & The Machine, Bombay Bicycle Club, Ben Howard, CSS, Noah + The Whale and DJ Shadow, the task is to design an original piece of 7” vinyl artwork inspired by each of their chosen songs.
Calling all visionaries from graphic designers to painters, illustrators and photographers, Secret 7” is providing an incredible opportunity for professionals, novices and art enthusiasts to collaborate with celebrated bands and artists.
Viewed by millions, and chosen out of thousands, the final pieces of artwork are decided by the public voters via Facebook and Twitter. The project will culminate in 700 uniquely pressed vinyls (with a limited edition of 100 covers for each artist’s single) to be displayed in an art exhibition at Idea Generation Gallery in London, Shoreditch in the week leading up to Record Store Day April 2012.
All Secret 7” singles with chosen artwork covers will be available to purchase, but none of the buyers will know who has created the sleeve, or even which song it’s for, until they are holding it in their hands - the secret lies within.
Talenthouse will be hosting submissions and enabling public voting to take place. Submissions will be generated through to mid Januar y 2012. To support the exhibition, an online interactive gallery will be created where purchasers of the Secret 7” vinyls can discover who created the artwork.
“Teenage Cancer Trust is extremely excited to be working alongside Talenthouse and Universal Music on the Secret 7” initiative. Music is such a huge part of what the charity is about and plays an important role in the lives of many of the patients on our units, so this project is a logical step for us. It’s such an innovative and unique campaign and offers a huge opportunity to some of the budding artists and music fans on our units to get involved,” says Jen Walker, Teenage Cancer Trust Music Co-ordinator
